About Us

Community Housing Associations (North West) (CHANW) represents community-based housing associations operating in the North West of England. We have 18 member organisations owning and managing over 12,000 properties.

Our Vision

CHANW’s primary purpose is to utilise our distinctive strengths in working together to support member associations to fulfil their individual goals and objectives.

We do this in a range of ways by:

• Providing a supportive environment for members.

• Sharing approaches and learning from each other on a range of operational matters.

• Focussing on topical strategic issues and sharing market intelligence.

• Gathering information on the positive impact our members’ work has on residents and neighbourhoods.

• Projecting a positive message about this work.

• Building on our success by exploring ways in which we can work together to become even more creative and efficient.

• Jointly commissioning training and development for our staff.
