Crosby Housing Association
Crosby Housing Association (CHA) are a small, community based housing association operating in South Sefton. They own just over 400 properties, mostly located in Seaforth and Waterloo.
The Association was formed in 1969 by a group of volunteers committed to changing the appalling housing conditions that faced many local families at the time.
They purchased their first home with money raised through fundraising and soon after set up the Charity Shop to bring in funds and provide essential items such as clothing and household goods at a very low cost.
Over time they have secured housing grants that funded the growth of the Association and enabled them to buy and improve properties that were let to local people. They continue to provide affordable, good-quality housing and excellent personal services to their tenants.
Over the past 40 years, they have earned a reputation as a caring landlord and a key stakeholder partner in Sefton.
The Association has demonstrated its commitment to people with support needs and in particular those suffering from mental illness. For the past ten years they have received funding to support a professional team which specialises in supporting people with mental illnesses to find appropriate and sustainable accommodation across the whole of Sefton.
CHA are a progressive and caring organisation which values its residents, staff and partners. They do not make any profit at all; any surplus is used to fund future work for the benefit of tenants and the communities in which they work.
