Eldonian Community Based Housing Association
The Eldonian Community Based Housing Association Ltd was set up as a Housing Co-operative in 1983 by tenants from Eldon Street and Burlington Street. The homes of these residents were scheduled for demolition: this would have meant that the community would have been broken up and the people scattered to different parts of Merseyside.
In 1990, the Co-operative became a Community Based Housing Association. The Eldonian CBHA is registered with both the Housing Corporation and the Registrar of Friendly Societies, and is also a member of the National Housing Federation.
The Association is a community based housing association registered with the Register of Friendly Societies as a community benefit society and regulated as a Housing Association by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The Housing Management Services include the allocation of houses, dealing with neighbour complaints, providing rent and benefit advice, housing advice, arrears management and a range of other services to assist tenants in sustaining their tenancies and to contribute to the comfort and enjoyment of their homes.
