Family Housing Association

Family Housing Association (Birkenhead & Wirral) is a charitable organisation that was formed in 1968. They provide homes, at low rents, for people in housing need. They own 383 properties in the North West of England, on the Wirral Peninsula, including some in Birkenhead, Oxton, Wallasey, Port Sunlight and Bromborough.

The Association owns 231 homes in Birkenhead, 80 in Wallasey, 64 in Port Sunlight and 8 in Bromborough. They consist of 227 houses and 156 flats. In terms of size, 142 of their homes have one bedroom, 102 have two bedrooms, 127 have three bedrooms and 12 have four or more bedrooms. All of their housing stock meets the Decent Homes Standard.

Family Housing Association has residents at the heart of its governance structure. Their board has two tenant members and they have a Customer Panel that oversees all of their work. Their board consists of nine volunteers, who give up their time freely to help guide the association through the challenges it faces. Each board bember has valuable knowledge and experience that has contributed to the strong position that the association is in today. They are always looking for new board members with appropriate skills or experience. Anyone interested in becoming a board member should contact the Chief Executive.
