Family Housing Association

Family Housing Association (Birkenhead & Wirral) is a charitable organisation that was formed in 1968. They provide homes, at social rents, for people in housing need. They own 401 properties in the North West of England, on the Wirral Peninsula, including some in Birkenhead, Oxton, Wallasey, Port Sunlight and Bromborough.

The Association owns 249 homes in Birkenhead, 80 in Wallasey, 64 in Port Sunlight and 8 in Bromborough. They consist of 235 houses, 96 flats, 13 bungalows and 57 sheltered flats. All of their housing stock meets the Decent Homes Standard.

To ensure Tenants’ Voice is heard by the Board, Family Housing Association promotes and gives tenants opportunities for Board Membership.  A Board Member routinely attends their Customer Panel meetings.  Their Board consists of nine volunteers, who give up their time freely to help guide the association through the challenges it faces.  Each Board Member has valuable knowledge and experience that has contributed to the strong position that Family Housing Association is in today. They are always looking for new Board Members with appropriate skills or experience. Anyone interested in becoming a Board Member should contact the Chief Executive.
